A Stunning Beauty!
Introduced in 2009, hosta 'Blue Ivory' is a beautiful sport of 'Halcyon'. Upon maturity it features wide creamy-white margins on blue leaves of good substance. In mid summer the margins turn white and may develop a unique blue-green blush. The center turns blue-green. Mid season you can watch hummingbirds feast upon the lavender flowers atop 20-24" scapes. Please remember: Young hostas need another year or more to show their full color, shape, size and texture. This is especially true for this hosta. Young 'Blue Ivory' plants show very little of the white margin for the first year. The blueness of the foliage is also very muted. While it takes a little time to get the full effect of this beauty it is definitely worth the wait!
